Kawatsuru Sake Seminar @ROKA /

President Yuichiro Kawahito of Kawatsuru Brewery from Kagawa prefcture
came to my work ROKA Charlotte Street, to give us a Sake Seminar to all the staffs.
Even though his schedule is tight traveling Germany - UK - France this time,
I was very glad he could give an opportunity like this for us.
I strongly believe that to make restaurant employees love and recommend Sake to the customers,
is the best and closest way to promote Sake to overseas.

He brought us a very special gift; a beautiful sake poems calligraphy by his father.
These are collections of Kanji, Chinese characters related to Sake.
Everyone loved it. We will display it in the restaurant!

In Japan it is rice harvesting season now, so his talks were focused around rice production.
"Sake making is Rice making" is one of his policies at brewery,
and produces their own Sake rice by themselves as one of the whole process of sake production.
Everyone was so interested in his talks that some of them started to saying at the end of seminar;
"Let's go to Kawatsuru Brewery this weekend!" to help harvesting their rice crops this Sunday.

Last time he was in London, it was March 11th this year.
Sake, Japanese food, economy, and more...
Things around Japan had changed a lot since the day.
He emphasized how important and necessary for Japan that
we consume its products like drinking Sake.

Afterwords we all went to enjoy his Sake at one of the traditional Izakaya in London called Yoisho.
Apart from our first glass of beer, we had Kawatsuru's Umakuchi Junmai
from very beginning to the end.
(we finished 4bottles at the end!) and I never got bored or tired to this Sake.
Instead, it becomes more and more tasty and expressive as you drink more.
It is so soft and hidden characters at the beginning,
but lifts up the food so well and run through your body like river.
This may be the best food Sake that could be listed next to Hakurakusei.

the very left is my big supporter, Mr. kitabayashi san of Sake & food distributor S.K.Y. enterprises,
and the very right, a great Sake promoter, Mr. Yamazaki san of Japan Embassy.

Thank you Mr. Kawahito san!
I am looking forward to your return to London again.
