The Destinations Holiday and Travel Show

Last weekend, there was a The Destinations Holiday and Travel Show at Earl's Court,
UK's largest travel show sponsored by the Times newspaper.
I had presented Sake Tasting session at their food and drink demonstration stage
"Taste the World"on last Friday and Sunday.

There were many booth of travel promotion companies to all over the world.

at my Sake Demonstration, I had introduced Japanese geography and regional culture,
as well as giving 3 sake tasting from different appellation.
from the left: Ugo no Tsuki, Junmai Ginjo Genshu (Hiroshima),
Otokoyama, Tokubetsu Junmai (Hokkaido),
Urakasumi, Honjozo (Miyagi)

Japan, the country stretches far from the north to the south,
has been establishing individual wealthy culture in each region
surrounded by different climates and nature sources.
Imagining the scenery and nature of each area, Hokkido, Tohoku, Chugoku,
We had tasted 3 sake of different types.
Mr. Tomita, the executive director of Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO)
had helped me contributing their documents.

There were various participants from someone who had never Sake
to a serious sake lover who often visit Japan,
But there were many feedbacks and active questions about food matching,
best drinking temperature, and production methods from the floor.
When I asked all participants which sake did they liked the best,
and the hands raised spread equally.
As everyone has his/her own ideas and characteristics, I believe that
It is my roll as a sake sommelier, to introduce sake to everyone
without much stereotypes and prejudice on what is the best sake,
and lead to find your "favorite sake flavors" and "star-sake brand".

Marina, my friend visiting from Japan on her business had helped me a lot today!
Thank you Marina!

There were many participants who came to the stage
to ask questions on Sake after the demonstration.
Very happy Pimienta.

I also got to participate in other Japanese cooking demonstrations:

On Friday there was Izakaya cooking demonstration by BBC Master Chef
Tim Anderson. I had met him at Visit Japan event at Japanese Embassy last year.

And on Sunday, there was a Japanese cooking demonstration by
Atsuko and Elsa of Atsuko's Kitchen!

Beautiful Inari-sushi was prepared by Atsuko, and
Yummy minced pork & ginger Brioche sandwich presented by Elsa.
All the audience looked so happy.

My favorite sisters sent me so much love during my demonstration...
I cannot wait until our next collaboration.
