This is the trophy for Sake Communicator Award I received the other day.
Sponsored by Japan Kutani ware, Kaburaki Shoho in Kanazawa, Ishikawa prefecture.
I was very happy because Kutani ware, which is so colorful
yet delicate and fragile, is my favorite.
Summer: Water lily and Kingfisher
Sake glasses with a stem by Kutani ware, the glass by RIEDEL.
This glass shapes like sherry glass,
I think Koshu (aged Sake) or matured Sake may be good to drink with this.
Even though its history traces back to 400 years ago,
It once mysteriously closed, and spent 100 years to restore.
Kutani ware has a colors like green, yellow, and gold
that reminds me of the colors in China and Southeast Asia,
as well as the beautiful delicate lines of Japanese art works.
as well as the beautiful delicate lines of Japanese art works.
My personal opinion is that it will be great to serve with very simple delicacies
such as Japanese pickles and grilled fish.
Thank you so much Mr. Kaburaki!
I will come visit Kanazawa some day soon.
